Final Thoughts of Honduras

We have had a little over a week to think about our trip and process what we did and how we were affected by the trip.  We have been chewing on such questions as:

What lessons did I learn?
What did I find out about myself that I like and were surprised by?
What did I find out about myself that I do not like and need to work on?
How has my perspective on Jesus changed?
What or whom do I need to provide my security and comfort?
How will I let God use this experience to change my life?
What areas am I serving in now and where is God calling me to serve in the future?
Why has God, in His perfect will, ordained that we should be born into a situation where all our basic needs are met, and why are there people all over the world in places such as Honduras that have almost none of the basics that we believe we must have to live?
How do we reconcile this in our brain?

Wrestling through some of these questions and more challenge us as a team to see God through new and hopefully bigger eyes.

We remember the laughter of the children as they played, the gratefulness in the beautiful eyes as we extended our arms and hands to provide hugs, care, medicines, and hope in places that seem forgotten.  We remember the loving care that our host team from Honduras extended to us and the thankfulness the Mayor of Colinas expressed that we would come and serve their people.  It is humbling to say the least to go and serve as the hands and feet of Jesus when you feel so inadequate to do so.  Our prayer is that the story of our journey will cause you to look inside your heart and see where Jesus wants to use you –  in your neighborhood, in your city, in your country, and in your world.

Please continue to pray for us as we keep processing.  We will be meeting as a team next week and will be posting some of our favorite stories.

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

We love you all!!  The Honduras Team  (You can click on the pictures to make them bigger)
